A Hug From Jesus
Do you ever feel like you want to give the whole world a big hug and tell them it'll be OK? I opened my scriptures yesterday to find the next chapter was 3 Nephi 8. This is the chapter when Christ is crucified. It speaks of great storms and terrible tempests. It speaks of death and woe and three days of utter darkness. I thought "I don't want to read this today." I was finally feeling good after a week of being sick, Emily and Katie were home for the 4th of July, I was feeling excited to be up and at the day for the first time in months. I didn't want to read something so depressing. And then I remembered what comes after. The next few chapters are the most glorious, wonderful, important chapters in the book; indeed, it could be said in any book. For Jesus comes . After centuries of war, the worst storm ever seen on the face of the land, three days of total, penetrating, tangible darkness, and the death of thousands, Jesus comes and makes everything right. ...
