I Will Not Be Moved
Good and evil are not relative. Right and wrong are not subjective. Morals and ethics are not debatable. Why? As Arthur Henry King so eloquently put it
"We symbolize [good] in a real individual—Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is a man, not a principle, a man who includes all principles. … We do not have to work out philosophical complexities of ethics. It has nothing to do with that. We have to study the Gospels, see what Christ did, and try to identify ourselves with what he did. It is because we catch the spirit of the Master, the Master’s love, and because we have soaked ourselves in the gospel, that we know what it is that we must do. The gospel which we have stored within us enables us at any moment to feel what we should do in a certain situation." (Abundance of the Heart, 1986)
I respect that different people have different points of view. I won't (or I'll try not to) judge people for their choices. I remember that everyone is a child of God, and try to love them.
But I will not argue with you. I know what I believe, and I will stand firm in that belief.
I know that God is our Father in Heaven; we are His children, and He knows and loves us individually. I know the Jesus Christ is our Savior, sent to suffer and die, that we might be redeemed if we follow His commandments. I know that gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose; and that the family structure plays an essential part in exaltation. I know a prophet has been called of God to lead His church in the Latter Days, and I sustain him by listening to and following his counsel. I know the Book of Mormon is a true account containing the Gospel and a second witness of Jesus Christ. I have caught the spirit of the Master, felt the Master's love, and endeavor to soak myself in the gospel.
These things I will not argue, I will not refute, and I will stand firm on, because I know by witness of the Holy Ghost that they are true.
